What Can Cause a Depressed Skull Fracture?

Depressed skull fractures result from a high-energy direct blow to a small surface area of the skull with a blunt object. A depressed skull fractures occurs when one end of the fractured plate is pushed beneath the other end. The fragmenting starts from the point of maximum impact and spreads centrifugally from where the object struck.
